Friday Dec 7th, Fifth Day
Hello 485 followers !! Wow… what an amazing number…. thank you all for following me… before I will start my blog today, I want to thank my ex-colleague linda and her husband Martijn for inspiring me to make this bblog. They go every year to the USA to visit rollercoasterparks and their blogs were so nice that it made me decide to make one of my self. Maybe you want to take a peak at their blog: http://usatour2012.wordpress.com/
OK…. back to Las Vegas. At Friday we had an EARLY BIRD BREAKFAST at good old Bill’s Gambling House. This is breakfast for people who come in before 6:00h, the early (or very late ?) birds. For just $4,99 you get a complete breakfast (3 fried eggs, toast, potatoes, marmalade and bacon… And the breakfast room is great…. just like it was decades ago…
After breakfast Stephanie and Bert left Las Vegas to Death Valley. They love it out there. Probably they will be back in Las Vegas somewhere next week.
I went to the Sportsroom in The Bellagio, to listen to the radioshow of my friend Paul aka DJ Milly, on Ipswich Community Radio FM, http://www.icrfm.co.uk/shows/hiphoprnbsoul/sos
Then my daily SKYPE talk with my Elena, and ready for Radio Rijnmond to listen the live commentary of the Excelsior-Sparta game…. (what a shame that Sparta lost…)
Then… to the pool…. yes, my dutch friends… you are in the snow, I in the sunshine. Here is a pic of our balcony that Elena send me:
And here is a pic that I made at nearly the same time of “my” pool at The Paris resort:
Jealous? OK… here’s another one…
Where else can you be at a swimming pool under the Eiffeltower than only in Las Vegas !!!
At nearly 15:00h I started to take a long walk to The Mandalay, that is the last hotel (and one of the most beautiful ones) at The Strip. Very modern. Here is a magnificent russian USSR style bar/restaurant where I had three “Stolichnaya Bluberri” wodkas’s. But whatever happened tto Lenin’s head?
After the wodka’s I walked through The Luxor to The Excalibur for a NL 1/2 game, my first no limit game this holiday. It went well… I won $53… I thought…. but it was $73, because I had a bonus of $20, because there was a shared price… because we had the best hand of the hour of all tables… (JJJJK). This a real family hotel, and the pokerplayers are friendly housefathers playing some hours of poker while their wives and kids do some shopping.. It is not my favourite hotel, but I allways visit it once during my holidays in Las Vegas.
The Excalibur looks like a “real” Walt Disney castle from the outside:
At the other site of the street is Hotel New York… definitely one of my favourites Hotel New York. If you are inside, it feels like walking through the old parts of Manhattan :
Here a nice pic I made from the outside:
There is even a copy of the Brooklyn Bridge :
In the New York I had diner (rice Yung Chow) at the chinese restaurant Chin-Chin:
Great day it’s been… time to go back to my room and have a good night’s rest..
Till tomorrow !!

Wonderful Wijnand! We are with you all the way! Please let us know when we can call you! We might even visit you!! Love The Californian Brits! x
You’re welcome 😉
Oh, god.. Hotel NY… Vreselijke achtbaan daar.. Never nooit meer, hahaha.. Maar het hotel zelf ziet er inderdaad prima uit!
